Introduction to Movie Maker Software

Movie Maker is a free video editing software that allows the user to add videos, photos, text, and sound into one production.  It is one of the most popular video editing tools available.  This program can help you create home movies, photo albums, classroom projects, and business presentations.
Establishing a Professional Format

o   Your presentation should be engaging but not distracting.
o   Include quality pictures and videos that flow nicely from beginning to end.
o   Add text that is placed strategically and adds to the presentation.
o   Focus on the animations of the presentation being smooth.

Creating a Presentation

o   Click on Add videos and photos to begin the basis of your presentation.

Infusing Effective Media

o   Titles/Text
  • Click on Title to add the first slide of your presentation.
  • Click on Caption to add text to any of the images/videos in your presentation.
  • Click on Credits to add the last slide of your presentation.

o   Animations
  • Click on Animations at the top of the screen to choose a transition between photos/videos in your presentation.

o   Visual Effects
  • Click on Visual Effects at the top of the screen to change the appearance and brightness of the photos/videos in your presentation.

o   Inserting Movies & Music
  • For Movies: Click on Add videos at the top of the screen if you have them saved on your hard drive.
  • For Audio: Click on Add Music at the top of the screen if you have it saved on your hard drive.

o   When you are done with your movie, click on Save movie, then Computer Use.
