Perspective History

Directions: You will divided into groups of three and will be asked explore one of three perspectives involved in the war – that of a Frenchman, an Englishman and a Native American.

Once you receive one of these characters, spend the next 5 minutes individually reading their assigned character (each group member will have a different character) and answer the questions provided.  Imagine that you are this character living in 1753. Consider how they may think, act, speak, etc., as well as what they care about and want from their day‐to‐day life.
Englishman
Native American
Frenchman
Part II: Next your group will be asked to answer the following questions:
  1. What issues or problems do you (as your character) have with the other characters in your group?
  2. What do you want from the other characters in the group?
  3. How can you get what you want?
  4. What questions do you have of the other characters?
  5. Based on what you have heard from one another, make a list of what you predict were causes of the French and Indian War.

Have fun, be creative and we will discuss further as a class once afterwards.
